I liked the premise of the story and think it had potential but fell short. I enjoyed it at first and hoped that the author would develop the characters and plot more. They could have been way more interesting but ended up being thin and boring after a while. Once the characters had sex, it just became all about sex and drama and misunderstandings. Several plot gimmicks were thrown in to try to make the book more interesting but were ridiculous and I couldn't help but feel like rolling my eyes. Contains explicit sex and language.Product details

Incite Adam Rockstar Series Book 1 edition by Heather C Leigh Contemporary Romance eBooks Reviews
This was such a waste of time to read. I have never read this author before but saw the review and thought I would give it a chance. First, there was like 80% unnecessary drama and angst created and like 2 chapters of them actually together where NOTHING gets resolved, and at no time to we see any growth in the characters or that they learned to I don't know COMMUNICATE but I'm supposed to believe they make a high profile relationship work? PLEASE. Second, this author seems to think its ok to give the heroine NO redeeming qualities. She actually cheats on her fiancé whom she is JUST using but oh my the way Kiera another character is the bad guy because she is using the hero. She gets the crap beat out of her but thinks its normal that the supposed love of her life doesn't even try to contact her to find out what happened or ask for an explanation for her not being in contact. Remember, she doesn't know that he got a text so we are all ok with him just not following up when he supposedly got blown off. What a waste of time and I wish people who accepted a read for "an honest review" actually gave one.
Incite is book one of the four-part Sphere of Irony series, a spin-off of Heather C. Leigh’s Famous series. I hadn’t read any of the previous books by this author, but Incite worked well as a stand alone. It is a rock star romance, which follows the story of Adam and Ellie over a period of ten to fifteen years. They meet in their last year at school when classy, posh Ellie has to move to the East End of London after her father becomes unemployed. Adam is a street-smart kid who grew up in this drug and crime ridden area with a violent father, an addict mother and a drug dealing brother. Together with his mate Dax, he plays guitar and writes songs hoping to escape his deprived surroundings. Adam and Dax save Ellie from being assaulted and over time, a sweet romance builds up between Ellie and Adam. But every time when you think there is finally something positive coming their way, another obstacle is thrown in their way. They end up spending a lot of time apart with Adam pursuing his music career in the US and Ellie trying to cope with problems in the UK.
The plot started out really strong, and I was loving it. But then a few things started to irritate me a bit. The main thing being the overly long timeline, which started to jump around with several flashbacks. Following an “incident”, the story would suddenly jump forward a few months/years, but then flashback to include additional information. It felt disjointed and could have been done more smoothly. The other thing that I couldn’t quite buy into was the premise that in this day and age it was so difficult for two people to keep in touch or keep track of each other. However, if you can forget about those things, then you have an emotional love story with all the usual ingredients, some interesting side characters and sharp dialogue.
What made this book more special for me though was the audiobook narration. Henrietta Meire with her clear voice and very proper English accent was absolutely perfect for the character of Ellie and really brought her to life in the way the author portrayed her in the book. Adam Croasdell, probably better known for his TV appearances, did a great job impersonating Adam’s and Dax’s East London accents and switching back and forth to do the two American accents of the other two band mates. Both narrators had great pacing, intonation and expressed emotions believably and appropriately. Great listening.
A very good read/listen for fans of New Adult contemporary romances, especially if you like troubled musicians. Includes some sex and a few swear words.

The use of an editor is desperately needed. There are so many errors, such as typos, missing words, incomplete sentences, improper punctuation, etcetera. The use of British terms doesn't work well with the accidental switches to American terms from the British characters. The whole book was depressing. I FINALLY finished reading THE WHOLE THING, much to my relief. If I had known that throughout the whole story that the two leading characters were going to be feeling sorry for themselves the majority of the time, beaten up over and over, coping with alcohol abuse, domestic violence, violence in general, and hoodlums running amok just to stir things up from time to time, I wouldn't have read the book. It made me feel unhappy and depressed. I don't think that classifying the book as a "romance," or a "fantasy" fits it. Is there a classification for a book full of anger, angst, abuse, sadness, tragedy, and depression? The characters are so juvenile that they never truly act as grownups should act. However, I definitely wouldn't recommend this as a "YA" book, either, due to the language, violence, adult situations, substance abuse, etcetera. I would recommend skipping this book, unless you feel like you deserve to be punished for something, as the lead character feels that he does, continuously throughout the book, over, and over, and over, for at least three quarters of the story.
I liked the premise of the story and think it had potential but fell short. I enjoyed it at first and hoped that the author would develop the characters and plot more. They could have been way more interesting but ended up being thin and boring after a while. Once the characters had sex, it just became all about sex and drama and misunderstandings.
